The 2004 Wizardry in Wood Exhibition took place at the Pewterers' Hall in Oat Lane in the City of London between 15th and 17th June 2004.  The country's top turners, many of whom are members of the Register of Professional Turners, exhibited their work on two floors of the Hall: individual turners' stands on the ground floor with group stands on the 1st floor.

In addition to the work of individual turners, a number of collections was on display:  the Smouha collection of pieces from America, Europe and Ireland; the St Petersburg Collection with pieces designed by Liveryman Theo Fabergé and Freeman Sarah Fabergé; the Daniel Collection of mainly British treen chosen by Jonathon Cuff and Shirley Sinclair; and finally the Howe Collection.

Exhibitors at Wizardry in Wood 2004 included: John Berkeley, Paul Coker, Stephen Cooper, Melvyn Firmager, Mark Hancock, Phil Irons, Ray Key, Bert Marsh, Stuart Mortimer, Tom Pockley, Gary Rance and Gambier Reeks. Many of these well known and outstanding wood turners are also taking part in the 2008 Exhibition.

The 2004 Wizardry in Wood Exhibition was opened by Mr Richard Levy, Master of the Worshipful Company of Turners, on 15th June 2004. The exhibition was graphically described by Penrose Halson, at that time the Renter Warden of the Worshipful Company of Turners in the article on the next page.
