The Pinto Collection is a unique collection of some 6,000 wooden objects, originally formed by Edward Pinto (1901-1972). It is possibly the largest collection of its kind in the world. Since its sale to Birmingham Museum in 1969, a large proportion of the Pinto Collection has been displayed in a special gallery which highlights different aspects of social history.

We are privileged to be able to show a varied selection of the turned items from this extraordinary collection. The patina and obvious age serve as a fascinating counterpoint to contemporary turning. Their functional nature is a reminder of the importance that wood had as a material for everyday items over the last few centuries

It is believed to be the first showing of these items in London.
