A massive pole lathe was used by Robin Wood to demonstrate making 'treen' - turned wooden tableware (plates, bowls and mazers). Guest of Honour for the opening of Wizardry in Wood, City of London Alderman Fiona Woolf CBE is presented with a gift by Peter Gibson, Master of the Turners' Company. The gift was a Laburnum bowl with a bark edge made by the late Bert Marsh. Katie Abbott demonstrating pole lathe turning to produce chair legs and spindles.

© 2012 Turners Company The Worshipful Company of Turners is a Livery Company of the City of London. Founded as a Guild in 1295, its Royal Charter was granted by King James in 1604. Four hundred years later, in 2004, the Turners Company organised the first Wizardry in Wood Exhibition. Exhibitions were also held in 2008 and 2012. The fourth exhibition will be held in 2016.
