The Daniel Collection

"We started our collection in 1997.  We only buy a piece if we both really like it.  It has to have a Wow! factor for us. We don't get hung up by "named" turners - it makes no difference to us whether a turner is famous or not.  To date we have about 200 or so pieces and we live with it all around our house.  Our favourites change from day to day and with such a wide range of styles and types of wood there are plenty to choose from."

The St Petersburg Collection

Exhibits from the Pinto Collection of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery

The Pinto Collection is a unique collection of some 6,000 wooden objects, originally formed by Edward Pinto (1901-1972). It is possibly the largest collection of its kind in the world.

We are privileged to be able to show at Wizardry in Wood a varied selection of the turned items from this extraordinary collection.

from the University of Leuven

An emblem is a symbolic picture with accompanying text, of a type which developed in the sixteenth century.  Three Flemish woodturners  have built a replica of this emblem in oak which we are delighted to be able to exhibit at Wizardry in Wood.
